Ballpark
All 30 MLB teams were moving towards a digital ticketing-only approach. The Ballpark app was originally designed as a game journal to log each game attended and the existing ticketing aspect of the product was shoehorned in several years prior. Each MLB team had their own needs and requirements that needed to be presented to fans attending games. There were a lot of competing business priorities and die-hard users to appease.
The outcome
Tailored Team Modules: Collaborating closely with every MLB team, I developed a completely configurable team page, allowing for infinite customization and ensuring each team could showcase its uniqueness.
Enhanced User Experience: Leveraging ticket scans as game "check-ins" this streamlined the process for fans to track their ballpark visits, reducing effort to add to their game journal.
Streamlined Game Day Experience: By prioritizing ticketing functionality and providing quick access to relevant ballpark content, we significantly reduced entry times and gate queues, enhancing the overall game day experience.
Ballpark evolved into a comprehensive solution that seamlessly integrated digital ticketing with fan engagement, addressing the diverse needs of MLB teams and fans alike. The app became a product where teams could pilot new technology before it was adopted by all MLB teams - mobile food ordering, advanced mapping and more.
